Your personal weekend travel agent

People nowadays are always drowning in work and would love to get away in the weekends. By taking a few days off from the routine will help release stress, make you happier and increase productivity when you do go back to work. Without sacrificing any of the precious vacation days, more people try to use the weekend time for a “small vacation”. Our team observe this phenomenon and decides to design the website: www.weekender.com and an app: Weekender for the users!

Young working professional Emma has had a long week, and it’s only Tuesday. She’s burnt out and needs a change of scenery ‐ it doesn’t matter where, or how she gets there, but the last thing she wants to do is spend an entire day traveling for only 2 days away. She wants to book immediately ‐ she needs something to look forward to and she wants to avoid last minute booking prices, but she simply does not have the time right now for researching and reading reviews.

Our team run two rounds of design studio based on the must have features and should have features of the Moscow map. We treated the must haves as the primary focus on home screen and the Should haves on the following screens i.e. the product detail screens.

Next Step

  1. Suggested activities and restaurants

    Weekender will prompt the user to log back on once they are traveling to their destination. Within the same interface, user can browse local activities, events, and restaurants. They can filter these by budget and interest, such as water sports, night life, adventure parks, etc. They can bookmark results and view their list of favorites later.

2. Money saving features

User will get prompts to save money, such as “add a friend to the trip to save”. They can change mode of transport very easily to help balance saving money vs travel time. The website will show local restaurants and activities within the users budget, and include deals from websites such as Groupon, etc.
